TYPE OF PROJECT: Seismic adequacy of existing building


The achievement of the seismic adequacy of the structure was necessary because the building has an essential role in case of a seismic event. The building is composed of four independent structures, with three-dimensional R/C frameworks. The structure is extremely articulate, with beams characterized to wide span and great section. In order to achieve the seismic adequacy the required interventions are: insertion of steel braced frames with dissipative device, insertion of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer in order to increase the beam’s strength, realization of a steel jacketing in order to increase the column’s strength.
